If you have a couple of hours to spare each month you could really make a difference by volunteering at Fincham Memorial Hall.

Current opportunities include:

Organising Fincham Film for All

This is a monthly film night that the committee established after receiving funding for a big screen and surround sound.  The film night typically takes place on the last Friday of each month.  The screening starts at 7.15.  Volunteers needed are to:

  • consult regulars on their preferred choices
  • book the films the with distributor
  • produce the posters
  • add the listing to the hall calendar, church magazine, neighbouring facebook pages, relevant noticeboards and village newsletters
  • setting out tables and chairs on the night
  • act as doorperson (arriving by 6.40pm), receiving entrance fees via card and cash
  • reporting the takings to the distributor
  • receiving the invoice
  • passing the invoice to the Treasurer for payment

Organising National Theatre Live

This is a usually a monthly screening which typically takes place on the second Saturday of each month.  The screening starts at 7.15pm.  Volunteers needed are to:

  • book the screenings the with the National Theatre
  • produce the posters
  • add the listing to the hall calendar, church magazine, neighbouring facebook pages, relevant noticeboards and village newsletters
  • set out the tables and chairs
  • act as doorperson (arriving by 6.40pm), receiving entrance fees via card and cash
  • reporting the takings to the NT
  • receiving the invoice from NT
  • passing the invoice to the Treasurer for payment

Treasurer

This is an important Trustee position which requires 

  • being computer literate and having access to a printer
  • famliarity with google drive (google docs and google spreadsheets)
  • Moderate excel / spreadsheet experience (including the knowledge of “pivot tables” which are required for year-end)
  • Having a mobile phone (required for dual factor authorisation or any transaction)
  • An hour or so each week to spare
  • Being available to respond to emails and attend committee meetings (meetings are no more than once per month)
  • Presenting a Treasurer’s report at committee meetings
  • Produce an annual report for submission to charity commission.
  • Living locally
